||The artistic trio k . o ( kombinirane operacije / combined operations ) was formed in December 1998 through a clearly excessive lapse of staging their first performance EXIT at The Festival of Youth in Kikinda ( Serbia ) . From 1998 - 2003 the group worked under the name OBEPYU.
The group is comprised of : Saša Božić ( director / dance dramaturg ) , Željka Sančanin ( choreographer , dancer / performer ) and Andrej Vučenović ( video artist). The first works of the group were conceptually founded on the confrontation of different cultural and ideological legacies that members brought with them and linked with the problem of the status of the artist in politically unstable time and space
( performances: 49 years, Kafka gegen Pound, La primavera ).
The second phase ( The Mistery of Orgasm, Places Where..., ( Hard To Dig It ) was directed more towards dance and intensive choreoghraphical research and the interest for the " political " bodies from the initial phase was transferred to researching the pure physicality and phenomenology of movement .
The group cinfirms their continuous interest for visual qualities of performing material in the solo choreography and video installation Private in Vitro where they also radicalize previous choreographical elements developing them into new modes of performativity which are directed towards the spectator this time and transferred from the performance field to the process of viewing, visual perception and the reproduction of the performed material.
During 2004. k . o. worked with 3 invited artists on the project Roland Barthes : Lover's Discourse
that came out as a controversial anti-show in which 6 authors , using selected patterns of theatre and dance vocabulary and the text of french philosopher as a fictional pretext for their own performative , investigate modes of artistic creation and collective work within performing media , treating live performance as an improvisational field for the manipulation under the representational frame of the show.
The group is currently working on the new piece Solo : Cycle that takes place in the framework of
Project on Labour, an international interdisciplinary project initiated by the Centre for Drama Arts .
