| Description: |
| Frakcija 37/38 deals with rethoric as the art of persuasion, rhetoric as an artistic and political strategy. Our intetion was to reactivate the effect of rethoric within the contemporary performing practices, and also to higlight its importance for the theoretical endevors using non-standard definitions of it. Rhetoric is explored not only on the level of speech, but on all levels of performance, and taken to be contained both in the text off-stage, as well as in the voice detached from the body, or even in silence. The contributions to this issue of Frakcija open up the connotative immensennes of rethoric by presenting it as a performative surplus, in the widest sense of the term, as that which is not contained in the content, that which does not demand the truth, that which can flourish from its own emptiness, that which finds its final purpose in seduction. |
